GoMentum Station is located in Concord, California, and is the nation’s largest secure testing facility for autonomous vehicles. Closed to the public, the site is a decommissioned naval base and mimics roadway conditions. Civic Edge joined client Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) to support the development of branding and messaging for GoMentum Station.
In introducing GoMentum station, our team focused messaging around the pioneering effort and addressed early potential questions or hesitancy around autonomous vehicles as an emerging technology. Communications highlighted safety features and protocols and raised awareness around potential community benefits. Our goal was to make GoMentum Station a point of pride for all Contra Costa residents - and a point of interest for thought leaders in the autonomous transportation field worldwide.
Sharing the exciting work being done at GoMentum with such a diverse audience required a creative, multi-pronged approach. We began with developing collateral and a website to tell the GoMentum Station story and highlight key partnerships with worldwide brands like Toyota, Honda, Uber, Lyft, LG, and many more. From there we engaged local, national, and international media for press days and demonstrations at the site and press events throughout Contra Costa county.
Our team also helped develop the concept for hosting the inaugural Redefining Mobility Summit, a day-long conference for people to learn more about the site and technology from world-renowned experts. We supported the Redefining Mobility from 2017-2020.
In addition to an international panel of speakers, attendees for the Redefining Mobility Summit come from around the world. Attendees include transportation experts, policy makers, and the general public. As part of the event production for the annual conference, Civic Edge has led creating a visual identity for that year’s conference, developing an app for attendings, managing promotion, and coordinating day-of logistics.
